iDocQ - Accommodation

Delegates are responsible for their own accommodation arrangements in Aberdeen.   • Jurys Inn Aberdeen
    The 203-room Jurys Inn Aberdeen hotel could not be more central for visitors. It is positioned on Guild Street between the rail and bus stations, right beside the new Union Square Shopping Centre and just a couple of minutes from the harbour and ferry terminals.

iDocQ - Travel

Bursary
A number of travel bursaries will be made available to students from members of the Scottish Graduate School for Social Science member institutions (only) to support their participation at iDocQ. Details of these will be e-mailed to those who qualify once they have registered their places. The bursary constitutes a claim of up to £40 to cover the cost of travel to the event. Travel expense forms will be available on the day of the iDocQ . Please make sure that you keep all applicable receipts and that you pick up a form on the day.

Getting to Aberdeen

  • By Plane
    Aberdeen International Airport is located at Dyce, about 7 miles north of Aberdeen city centre. From Aberdeen Airport there are a number of daily flights to London airports and to many other UK airports. There are also flights to northern Europe's major cities and connections with the United States and other destinations through London Gatwick, London Heathrow, London Luton, Glasgow Airport, Schipol Airport, Amsterdam and Charles de Gaulle Airport, Paris. Many budget and low-cost airlines fly to Aberdeen Airport. Fares vary considerably depending on when you travel and how far in advance you book. For example easyJet flights between London Luton and Aberdeen can be as low as £50 return but rise if you book closer to your date of departure.   • By Rail
    Aberdeen Railway Station provides train services to destinations throughout Britain, including a regular sleeper service to central London. The city can be reached by rail from London in less than seven hours and from Edinburgh and Glasgow in just over two and a half hours. The station is situated centrally and is a short 2-3 minutes' walk from the main thoroughfare, Union Street. There is also a taxi rank situated at the railway station. First Scotrail, GNER and Virgin Trains all operate services to Aberdeen.
  • By Coach
    Aberdeen Bus Station is located next to the the Railway Station. Scottish Citylink and National Express are the main long distance coach operators.
  • By Car
    The main road links into Aberdeen are the A90 from the south, and the A96 from the north.
